Everyone needs a break, and that is ok

Respite Care Allows the Family Caregiver to Take a Vacation

Family caregivers are often required to be “on call” 24 hours a day, seven days a week, even if their senior loved one does not live with them. It is a physically and emotionally demanding situation that can take a toll on the caregiver’s health. That is why it is essential to take regular breaks which may include vacations with your family or close friends.

Respite care is a convenient option offered at Grace Manor to help caregivers that need help from time to time. Respite Care is a program for adults who require 24-hour care from 5-30 days.

Respite stay of 7 days or less may be available through the Southwest Kansas Area Agency on Aging. This service is funded by the Family Care Giver Program offering an in home caregiver break from the rigors of 24 hour care of their loved one.

Residents who are admitted to a Respite stay are provided the same care and services as all other residents. Perhaps you have an emergency that you need to attend to, or are planning a trip somewhere and need a safe and secure care option for your loved one. Knowing your loved one is receiving 24 hour care in a safe and secure environment can allow you peace of mind while you are away.

Grace Manor may also provide a senior care solution for individuals that would benefit from staff care and oversight while enjoying social and recreational activities during the day. Please talk to us about your specific needs so that we can help you find a solution!
